Welcome to Understand.tech. By accessing or using our website, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

1. General Information

Understand.tech is a website owned by Understand Tech Inc., which allows users to access AI models and effortlessly create their own from any document, transforming complex technology into instant understanding.

2. Public AI Assistants

Users have access to public AI assistants, created by Understand Tech or by other users from the Understand Tech community, based on public IoT and Security standards. These public AI assistants are offered free of charge with no limit on prompts, subject to fair use policies.

Understand.tech is not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with CSA Matter, Wi-Fi Alliance, Thread Group, or any other standards organizations listed in the public models on the main page, or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates. The official CSA Matter website can be found at https://csa-iot.org, the official Wi-Fi Alliance website can be found at https://www.wi-fi.org, and the official Thread Group website can be found at https://www.threadgroup.org.

3. Use of Information

The information provided by Understand.tech on the public models based on standards is for general informational and educational purposes. All information in chat responses to your questions is generated automatically by an AI agent. While we strive to maximize the accuracy of the AI agent, we make no warranties of any kind regarding the accuracy of this information. We recommend that you verify any information obtained from our AI agent with primary sources.

4. Availability

This website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties and without any obligation of availability for free accounts. Understand.tech shall undertake to restore access in the event of an interruption but cannot be held responsible for any damage resulting from such an interruption. For paid accounts, Understand.tech intends to provide access to the website 24 hours a day, seven days per week, except in the event of any interruption for maintenance, scheduled or not, or in the event of force majeure. In case of interruption where Understand.tech is responsible, we will work on a case-by-case basis to provide users with extra free access to compensate them.

5. Free and Paid Plans

5.1 Scope of Free and Paid Plans

Understand.tech provides free-of-charge access to its basic features. Users can migrate to one of our paid plans as indicated in the pricing plans page to gain access to additional resources and support. The details of paid plans and their benefits are available on the Pricing Plans page.

The current pricing is discounted and is valid until December 31, 2024. Monthly discounted subscription pricing is valid for one year from the date of the subscription. After the conclusion of the 12-month discount period, your subscription will automatically renew at the then-current standard (non-discounted) pricing.

5.2 B2B Pricing (Excluding Taxes / HT)

  1. Pricing Exclusive of Taxes
    All prices listed for our paid plans are quoted HT (tax-exclusive). Our paid subscriptions are intended solely for businesses that possess a valid VAT number (or a local equivalent business tax ID, as applicable).

  2. VAT Number Requirement

    • During or After Purchase: If you are located in the EU and did not provide your VAT number during checkout, please email us at support@understand.tech within 7 days from the date of your subscription to supply your VAT details.

    • Failure to Provide VAT Number: If no valid VAT number is provided within this timeframe, Understand.tech reserves the right to charge or withhold any applicable VAT and adjust your billing information accordingly.

  3. Responsibility for Taxes
    You are solely responsible for assessing and remitting any applicable taxes, duties, VAT, or similar governmental assessments of any nature associated with your purchase of a paid plan.

  4. No Consumer (B2C) Sales
    Because our services are intended for B2B transactions only, by subscribing to a paid plan you represent and warrant that you are purchasing on behalf of a business entity, and that you have the authority to do so.

6. User-Uploaded Documents

When you upload your own documents to train a model on Understand.tech's platform, you affirm that you have the right to use these documents. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are not uploading any confidential, proprietary, or intellectual property that you do not have permission to use. Understand.tech will not be responsible for verifying the ownership or rights to the documents you upload.

By using this service, you agree that you are solely responsible for the documents you upload and their content. You acknowledge that Understand.tech's platform is a tool to assist in processing and generating information from these documents, and our responsibility is limited to providing this tool. We do not claim ownership over the documents you upload.

Understand.tech does not store the user documents in our database. We only use them to train AI models and do not keep them thereafter.

Understand.tech shall not be liable for any issues arising from the use of documents that infringe on intellectual property rights or contain confidential information. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Understand.tech, its affiliates, officers, agents, and employees from any claims, actions, or damages arising from the documents you upload and use on our platform.

7. Account Management

Users can stop their subscription or erase their account by writing to support@understand.tech. We will process such requests promptly.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including but not limited to graphics, texts, and logos, is protected by intellectual property laws. Any reproduction, in part or in whole, of any content of the website is strictly prohibited. You shall not redistribute or reproduce data available on our website or otherwise communicated as part of the use of our services, provided such action is restricted to your own use and in accordance with these terms and any other contractual obligations of the services concerned.

9. Personal Information and Data Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Understand.tech’s Privacy Policy sets out how we use and protect personal data that you may share when you visit and use the website.

10. Liability

Understand.tech has taken all steps to ensure the reliability of the information contained on this website. Despite these efforts, Understand.tech shall not incur any liability for any errors, omissions, or for results that may be obtained by the use of this information.

The information contained on the website is given strictly for informative purposes and does not entail any legal commitment or implicit or explicit contractual agreement on the part of Understand.tech, which also reserves the right to modify any part of the website at any time.

The website may include links to other websites or other Internet sources (“External Sources”). Understand.tech does not control these External Sources and therefore cannot be held responsible for these. As such, Understand.tech declines any responsibility for the content, advertising, products, services, and any other material available on or branching off from any External Source. In addition, Understand.tech cannot be held responsible for any damage or losses, true or alleged, deriving from the use or from having trusted the content, or goods and services available on any External Source.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by, and interpreted in accordance with, the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. In case of a dispute arising in connection with the website and/or terms, and should no amicable solution be found, such dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Delaware.

12. Reseller and Affiliate Program Terms

12.1 Eligibility

Participation in the Understand.tech Reseller and Affiliate Program ("Program") is open to individuals and entities that are not located in countries under U.S. embargo and are eligible to receive payments via Stripe. By participating in the Program, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

12.2 Prohibited Activities

Participants in the Program must not:

  • Misrepresentation: Misrepresent Understand.tech or its services in any way.

  • Self-Referrals: Engage in self-referrals, including signing up for Understand.tech services through your own affiliate link to generate commissions.

  • Fraudulent Behavior: Engage in fraudulent activities, abusive behavior, gaming, or any form of customer deception. This includes sharing fake discounts or promotions on bargain-sharing websites.

  • Unauthorized Advertising: Use paid advertisements such as search engine ads (especially using branded terms or domain names), social media ads, or any similar ads that may compete with our marketing efforts or potentially confuse our customers.

  • Misleading Representations: Create any form of representation—including domain names (or misspelled variations), code, designs, imagery, text, or videos—that could mislead customers into believing that your website or content is affiliated with, endorsed by, or related to Understand.tech.

  • Unauthorized Websites: Create websites solely to promote Understand.tech's software without prior written approval from our Affiliate Program Manager.

  • Coupon and Cashback Sites: Partner with coupon, bargain, or cashback websites as part of your promotional efforts.

12.3 Commissions and Payment

  • Commission Rate: Commissions are 20% of the subscription value purchased by the referred user who uses your unique affiliate link.

  • Payout Duration: Commissions are paid out for a period of twelve (12) months starting from the date of the referred user's subscription.

  • Payment Schedule: Commissions are paid monthly at the end of each month for qualifying referrals made in accordance with these terms.

  • Forfeiture of Commissions: Commissions generated through methods that violate these Terms and Conditions will not be owed or paid.

12.4 Tax Obligations

Participants are solely responsible for any tax obligations arising from their participation in the Program. Understand.tech is not responsible for withholding or paying any taxes on your behalf.

12.5 Account Termination

  • Violation of Terms: We reserve the right to terminate your affiliate account if you violate any of the terms outlined in this Agreement.

  • Inactivity: After a period of six (6) months without any activity (i.e., no new referrals), we reserve the right to terminate your account. If this occurs, any unpaid commissions below the minimum payout threshold will be voided.

12.6 Modifications

Understand.tech reserves the right to modify or revise these Reseller and Affiliate Program Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued participation in the Program constitutes acceptance of any changes made.

12.7 Limitation of Liability

Understand.tech shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from or relating to your participation in the Program.
